Oct 21st | Caesarea Maritima, Nazareth Village, Zippori National Park, Cana Wedding Church

We begin our adventure on the Mediterranean coast in the ruins of ancient Rome’s Judean capital. We will then travel to Nazareth village, an authentic first century farm, and an accurate archaeological recreation of Nazarene life in the time of Jesus. After lunch, we travel north of Nazareth to Zippori National Park. Zippori, also known as Sepphoris, was regarded as the jewel of Galilee and was a major cosmopolitan Roman city during the time of Christ. We finish the day at the Cana Wedding Church. An ancient church that was built over what is thought to be the early church marking the place of Jesus first miracle when He turned water to wine in John 2.

Sea of Galilee | Ramot Resort

Oct 22nd | Mt. Arbel, Magdala, Peter’s Primacy, Capernaum

Start the day at Mt. Arbel with breathtaking overlook of the Sea of Galilee. Mt. Arbel is the believed place where Christ gave the Great Commission. We will descend down to explore the ancient fortress built in to the cliffside. After lunch, we will then travel to the shore of the Sea of Galilee to visit Magdala, a recent archaeological discovery. Magdala is a crossroads of Jewish and Christian history and the hometown of Mary Magdalene. We then travel to a peaceful site on the northern shore of Galilee where Jesus restored Peter after he denied Him three times. We will then visit Capernaum, an important town in the time of Christ, where He performed many miracles. It’s also an important city for the fishing community of Galilee and is located on the international highway of the time known as The Via Maris.

Sea of Galilee | Ramot Resort

Oct 23rd | Jesus Boat, Mt. of Beatitudes,  Caesarea Philippi, Tel Dan

Our third day of exploring begins at the Jesus boat museum. In 1986, the hull of a boat, old enough to have been on the water in the time of Christ was discovered and restored. We then travel on the Sea of Galilee in a modern-day wooden boat. Then we’re on to the Mt. of Beatitudes where Jesus’ most famous sermon from Matthew 5 took place. After lunch we’ll
travel north to Caesarea Philippi, this is the location of one of the largest springs feeding the Jordan River. This important site in Jesus’ ministry is where He took the disciples to give them their marching orders with “Upon this Rock, I will build My Church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. We will then travel to the Dan Nature Reserve for a beautiful hike and visit an ancient gate that Abraham walked through over 4,000 years ago.

Sea of Galilee | Ramot Resort

Oct 24th | Jordan River Valley, Baptisms, Jerusalem

We say goodbye to the Sea of Galilee in the morning and drive to the Jordan River Valley. At the southern tip of the Sea of Galilee we will visit Yardenit, where you have the opportunity to be baptized in the same waters where Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist. We will then travel up to Jerusalem! After checking into the hotel, we can explore the old city of Jerusalem.

Jerusalem | Sephardic Hotel

Oct 25th | Knesset, Holocaust Museum. Holocaust Survivor Lunch, Free Time

The Knesset is the Israeli equivalent to the United States Capitol building where the country’s government operates. We will meet with some of our friends in the Israeli government to discuss the current state of affairs. Afterwards we will visit Yad Vashem, the very moving Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem. This is a somber visit to help us never forget what happened to Jewish people in Europe during WW2. Following the museum, we will have lunch with a group of Holocaust Survivors who are ministered to by the Uncharted Israel team. It’s a chance to love on these special people, listen to their stories, learn about their experiences, and show the love to Christ to them. Next, free time will be given to explore the Old City and shop.

Jerusalem | Sephardic Hotel

Oct 26th | Temple Mount, Mount of Olives, Via Dolorosa, Church of the Holy
Sepulcher

The Temple Mount is where Judaism, Islam, and Christianity clash. It is the site of where the Third Temple will be located. Next, we head to the Mount of Olives which offers an unparalleled view of the Old City of Jerusalem. This is the location where Jesus wept over the city during the He would give His life as the Lamb of God. As we walk through Jerusalem on the “Way of Suffering” also known as the Via Dolorosa we’ll stop at the Pool of Bethesda, where Jesus healed a paralytic man in John 5. As we make our way to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, we’ll stay on the modern-day processional route marking where Jesus carried the cross. At the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, we see the traditional site where Christ was crucified, buried, and
rose from the dead!

Jerusalem | Sephardic Hotel

Oct 27th | Masada, Ein Gedi, Qumran, The Dead Sea

Our Judean Desert Day begins as we leave Jerusalem and travel to the Dead Sea. Our first stop is Masada, a rock plateau mentioned in the Old Testament several times. This famous location is where Jewish rebels committed mass suicide to prevent capture from the Romans in
74 A.D. We will travel north to Ein Gedi, an oasis, and a place of refuge for David as he fled from an angry King Saul. From here we will visit Qumran where an ancient settlement existed in the time of Christ. This is the location where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found in 1947 by a Bedouin shepherd. Our last stop will be the Dead Sea itself. Here we visit the lowest spot-on earth and have the opportunity to float in the saltiest body of water in the world.

Jerusalem | Sephardic Hotel

Oct 28th | The Rabbi Tunnels, Hezekiah’s Tunnel, Garden Tomb

On our last full day together in Jerusalem we begin by visiting the ancient Rabbi Tunnels. These tunnels allow us to see the foundation of the Solomon’s Temple, not visible above ground. After, we will travel to Hezekiah’s Tunnel which is located underneath the City of David. The tunnel was carved underground by order of King Hezekiah to prepare Jerusalem for siege by the Assyrians. Finally, we will visit the Garden Tomb, a beautiful garden that many Bible teachers believe is the actual location for the crucifixion, burial and resurrection of Jesus. What a joy it will be to conclude our pilgrimage with the Lord’s Supper and Worship at the Garden Tomb. Return to the hotel for last dinner and overnight.

Safety

Over the past year, Israel has faced significant challenges due to ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon. While the region has experienced difficult times, we remain hopeful for peace and are grateful by emerging signs of progress in both areas. We are trusting that this will continue.

At Uncharted, the safety and well-being of our team members remain our highest priority. In light of the current situation in Israel and the neighboring regions, we have implemented a comprehensive and proactive safety plan to ensure our teams are well-protected at all times.

To uphold this commitment, we have established a set of clear and precautionary safeguards. If any one of these measures is triggered within a week of our scheduled departure, the trip will be postponed. These safeguards allow us to make well-informed decisions based on reliable information from trusted authorities. The four key safeguards include:

  1. A “Do Not Travel” advisory for Israel issued by the U.S. Department of State.
  2. A “Do Not Travel” warning issued by the Israeli Ministry of Tourism.
  3. Flight cancellations by our airline due to safety concerns.
  4. Guidance from our trusted partners, including colleagues within the Israeli Defense Forces, advising against travel.

We have similar safety protocols in place for our day to day travels within Israel as well, relying on current information from local agencies.

These layers of precaution reflect our commitment to operating responsibly and ensuring the highest standards of safety for our teams. We are prepared and working closely with all relevant authorities to make decisions grounded in expertise and care. We pray for peace in Israel soon and ask that you join us in this too!

Its is very important that your passport does not expire six months before our return date. You will be denied entry into Israel if your passport expires earlier than this date.

If your passport expiration date looks good, please email a copy to info@unchartedadventures.co.

  • Best: Color scan of your passport in .jpg, .png or .pdf format
  • Good Enough: Up-close photo in .jpg or .png format (make sure there is no glare and all info is readable.)
  • Make sure passport is SIGNED and that signature page is included in your scan or photo.

If your passport expires 6 months before we return from our trip, you will need to apply immediately for a passport renewal. Please click here for directions on how to renew your passport. NOTE: Routine renewal processing can take 12 weeks. Expedited (more expensive) is more like a 6 week turnaround.

If you do not have a valid passport, click here to apply for one.

Be aware, if you are traveling with us to Israel, customs may take longer if your passport contains stamps from Muslim-majority countries.

Solo Travelers

We welcome solo travelers on all our trips! However, the advertised trip cost reflects a cost per person that assumes the person will share a room with another traveler (“double occupancy.”) We will do our best to pair you with another solo traveler (of the same gender) that also desires a roommate. It has worked out well for many people on our trips. If, however, we are unable to assign a roommate, you should anticipate that 1-2 months before trip departure, you will receive an additional invoice of $1105 USD from Uncharted Adventures to cover to costs of having a private room (“single supplement”) at all hotels during the trip.

Is Israel safe?

Israel is regarded as one of the safest countries in the world. Annually, the city of Chicago has more violent crimes than the entire country of Israel. The safety of our travelers is of the highest priority to Uncharted Adventures and our partners. If for any reason safety is threatened by any factors the owners/operators reserve the right to make whatever changes deemed necessary for the safety of the team. This could include changing lodging or avoiding areas at short notice.

Passport Requirements

All participants must have a valid passport that will expire no sooner than six months from their scheduled date of return. We recommend you to carry your passport on your person. Be aware, if you are traveling with us to Israel customs may take longer if your passport contains stamps from Muslim majority countries.

Do I need to buy travel insurance?

Basic Travel Insurance is included in your trip price. The insurance provides coverage for illness medical expenses, accident medical expenses, emergency and security evacuation, missed connection, trip delay, and lost baggage/passport assistance.

We highly recommend purchasing Trip Cancellation Insurance. This will provide coverage for trip cancellation, trip interruption, and other unexpected occurrences. Cancellation insurance prices vary based on travelers age, length of stay, etc.  You are welcome to use any insurance company you would like. The company we work with is Squaremouth Insurance they utilize multiple insurance companies to provide affordable policies. Using the above link will send your policy to Uncharted Adventures (which makes it easier for us to assist you should a claim arise). *Note: Trip Cancellation Insurance must be purchased no later than 21 days after first payment is made.

Can I use frequent flyer miles for my flights?

Absolutely! However, due to airline rules, Uncharted cannot secure these tickets for you. Please see Flights information on Travel Info page. Your tour cost will be reduced by $1,200 if you purchase tickets on your own.

How much personal money should I bring?

Almost all shops and stores in both Israel and Jordan accept Credit Cards. However, if you prefer to bring cash, we recommend bringing around $250 per person or $500 per couple. This will be more than enough for lunches and to buy souvenirs for yourself and those back at home.

Can I use my phone overseas?

Yes, however there will be additional cost for international calls and data usage. The simplest way to use your phone overseas is to add an international travel pass. Each carrier’s rules are different, so check with your provider. An option to avoid paying for international service is to turn your phones data and cellular network off and communicate by Wifi. The bus is equipped with wifi and all hotels have it as well.

What kind of power adapter will I need?

Israel and Jordan do not use the same plug sockets that we do in the U.S. Thankfully most devices do not require a power converter, they do however need an adapter to fit the socket. The adapter needed for Israel and Jordan is Type-C. You can also use a “Universal Adapter” that will work fine. *Note: If you have multiple devices you will be charging at the hotel such as cell phones, digital watch, camera, etc. it may be worth getting a portable power strip to plug all of your devices into.
