Psalm 119:105

Harris Creek Church, Jonathan “JP” Pokluda, & Tom and JoAnn Doyle invite you to join them on a once in a lifetime, exclusive tour of the Land of the Bible. Experience the Scriptures on location, the rich cultures of Jews and Arabs, and hike among the historical sites where Jesus performed the miracles that shook the world and continue to do so today.

The cost includes roundtrip airfare*, hotel accommodations, breakfasts, and dinners, National Park passes, all tips and gratuities and transportation for the whole tour! We guarantee you’ll be transformed, and how you read the Bible will never be the same.

Jonathan “JP” Pokluda

Jonathan “JP” Pokluda is the Lead Pastor of Harris Creek Baptist Church in Waco, TX. He was formerly the leader of The Porch in Dallas, TX, which grew to be the largest weekly young adult gathering of its kind in the country. JP didn’t come to understand the grace of the Gospel until his early twenties after being involved in different denominational churches his entire life. This ignited a desire in him to inspire believers to radically follow Jesus Christ and unleash them to change the world. JP’s partner in ministry is Monica, his wife of eighteen years, and together they disciple their children Presley, Finley, and Weston.

His most recent book, Why Do I Do What I Don’t Want To Do encourages believers to pursue holiness, by choosing virtues instead of just avoiding vices. His best-selling book, Welcome to Adulting, offers millennials a road map to navigating faith, finding a spouse, finances, and the future. Following the release of Welcome to Adulting, he wrote Welcome to Adulting: Survival Guide, which provides a 42-day guide to surviving adulthood and Outdated, which explains God’s purpose for singleness, dating, and marriage while covering why, who, and how you should date.

Passport Requirements

Its is very important that your passport does not expire six months before our return date. You will be denied entry into Israel if your passport expires earlier than this date.

If your passport expiration date looks good, please email a copy to info@unchartedadventures.co.

  • Best: Color scan of your passport in .jpg, .png or .pdf format
  • Good Enough: Up-close photo in .jpg or .png format (make sure there is no glare and all info is readable.)
  • Make sure passport is SIGNED and that signature page is included in your scan or photo.

If your passport expires 6 months before we return from our trip, you will need to apply immediately for a passport renewal. Please click here for directions on how to renew your passport. NOTE: Routine renewal processing can take 12 weeks. Expedited (more expensive) is more like a 6 week turnaround.

If you do not have a valid passport, click here to apply for one.

Be aware, if you are traveling with us to Israel, customs may take longer if your passport contains stamps from Muslim-majority countries.

Solo Travelers

We welcome solo travelers on all our trips! However, the advertised trip cost reflects a cost per person that assumes the person will share a room with another traveler (“double occupancy.”) We will do our best to pair you with another solo traveler (of the same gender) that also desires a roommate. It has worked out well for many people on our trips. If, however, we are unable to assign a roommate, you should anticipate that 1-2 months before trip departure, you will receive an additional invoice of $1165 USD from Uncharted Adventures to cover to costs of having a private room (“single supplement”) at all hotels during the trip.

Weather

The average daily high temperature during the month of July is 91 degrees (F) with evening temps around 70 (F). July is typically in the midst of a hot and dry season in Israel. Temperatures may differ in the south (desert) and Galilee (north) regions.

Is Israel safe?

Israel is regarded as one of the safest countries in the world. Annually, the city of Chicago has more violent crimes than the entire country of Israel. The safety of our travelers is of the highest priority to Uncharted Adventures and our partners. If for any reason safety is threatened by any factors the owners/operators reserve the right to make whatever changes deemed necessary for the safety of the team. This could include changing lodging or avoiding areas at short notice.

Passport Requirements

All participants must have a valid passport that will expire no sooner than six months from their scheduled date of return. We recommend you to carry your passport on your person. Be aware, if you are traveling with us to Israel customs may take longer if your passport contains stamps from Muslim majority countries.

Do I need to buy travel insurance?

Basic Travel Insurance is included in your trip price. The insurance provides coverage for illness medical expenses, accident medical expenses, emergency and security evacuation, missed connection, trip delay, and lost baggage/passport assistance.

We highly recommend purchasing Trip Cancellation Insurance. This will provide coverage for trip cancellation, trip interruption, and other unexpected occurrences. Cancellation insurance prices vary based on travelers age, length of stay, etc.  You are welcome to use any insurance company you would like. The company we work with is Squaremouth Insurance they utilize multiple insurance companies to provide affordable policies. Using the above link will send your policy to Uncharted Adventures (which makes it easier for us to assist you should a claim arise). *Note: Trip Cancellation Insurance must be purchased no later than 21 days prior to trip departure.

Can I use frequent flyer miles for my flights?

Absolutely! However, due to airline rules, Uncharted cannot secure these tickets for you. Please see Flights information on Travel Info page. Your tour cost will be reduced by $1,000 if you purchase tickets on your own.

How much personal money should I bring?

Almost all shops and stores in both Israel and Jordan accept Credit Cards. However, if you prefer to bring cash, we recommend bringing around $250 per person or $500 per couple. This will be more than enough for lunches and to buy souvenirs for yourself and those back at home.

Can I use my phone overseas?

Yes, however there will be additional cost for international calls and data usage. The simplest way to use your phone overseas is to add an international travel pass. Each carrier’s rules are different, so check with your provider. An option to avoid paying for international service is to turn your phones data and cellular network off and communicate by Wifi. The bus is equipped with wifi and all hotels have it as well.

What kind of power adapter will I need?

Israel and Jordan do not use the same plug sockets that we do in the U.S. Thankfully most devices do not require a power converter, they do however need an adapter to fit the socket. The adapter needed for Israel and Jordan is Type-C. You can also use a “Universal Adapter” that will work fine. *Note: If you have multiple devices you will be charging at the hotel such as cell phones, digital watch, camera, etc. it may be worth getting a portable power strip to plug all of your devices into.
