Heather & Karl Olsen

Heather and Karl Olsen are college sweethearts and share many interests, a top one the love of travel. They reside in Northern Colorado and have raised three amazing kids.
Heather completed her master’s degree in Practical Theology, with a concentration focused on Jesus’ time period and his Jewishness. This degree has enabled a new passion for sharing the Jewishness of the Bible, translational nuances, and the dream to lead trips to the Holy Land. Heather has traveled to the Land several times, always ready to return and share this love.
Karl is a physician in town, a lay expert on Roman history, and an insatiable oenophile. The joy he derives from sharing his love of vines, wine, and faith is a perfect combination for this trip.

April 9th | Caesarea, Mt. Carmel, Mt. Carmel Winery Meggido Town
You begin your adventure on the Mediterranean coast in the ruins of ancient Rome’s Judean capital, Caesarea. You will then travel to Mt. Carmel to see the spot where Elijah had a showdown with he prophets of Baal. Next you will visit the wonderfully refreshing Mt. Carmel Winery. Finally you will visit the town of Meggido, where Revelation 16 comes to life.

April 10th | Arbel, Mt of Beatitudes, Food Truck, Peter’s Primacy, Capernaum, Baptisms, Sunset Boat Ride
Start the day with a beautiful view of the Sea of Galilee from the top of Mt. Arbel—journey down to the Mt. of Beautides where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount. Enjoy an exclusive activity enjoying lunch from a private food truck near the Beatitudtes.
Visit Peter’s Primacy, Capernaum, and have the fantastic opportunity to be baptized in Qasr al-Yahud.
Finally, enjoy another exclusive experience – a private boat ride on the serene waters of the Sea of Galilee. Appreciate locally sourced wine and appetizers from the Golan Heights as you reflect on the waters where Jesus walked. Take this in while the sun sets over the waters.

April 11th | Dan Nature Reserve, Caesarea Philippi, Tour Golan Heights Winery, Kursi
Hike in Northern Israel in the Dan Nature Reserve and walk along the headwaters of the Jordan River. This impressive archeological site has remains of ancient Canaanite and Israelite cities. Visit the very spot where Israel fell into idolatry under King Jeroboam.
Next visit: Caesarea Philippi. This important site in Jesus’ ministry is where He took the disciples to give them their marching orders: “Upon this Rock, I will build My Church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.”
Visit a winery in the Golan Heights region, tour the vineyards, and enjoy lunch here with locally sourced food. Finally, visit Kersi on the way to Jerusalem.

April 12th | Mt. of Olives, Garden of Gethsemane, Zion Gate, Upper Room
Start the day at the Mt. of Olives. The highest of the three ridges surrounding Jerusalem, from here, Jesus wept over the city. Jesus also was standing on this mountain when He ascended to Heaven where He will return for His second coming and the mountain will split in half. Book release filming will take place here.
Garden of Gethsemane – Reflect at the site where Jesus prayed and agonized before His arrest. Visit the Upper Room, the traditional site where Jesus shared his final meal with his disciples.

April 13th | Temple Mount, Western Wall, Southern Steps, City of David, Desert Dinner
Explore the Temple Mount, Mt. Moriah, where Abraham was prepared to sacrifice his son Isaac and where Jesus was crucified for our sins. Islam’s Dome of the Rock and al-Aqsa Mosque are presently on the site but will one day be gone when Jesus returns. Sit on the Southern Steps where Jesus taught the last week of his earthly life and where the Church was born on Pentecost.
Walk through Hezekiah’s Tunnel, the tunnel that the king dug to keep the water source of the Gihon Spring inside Jerusalem and away from Israel’s enemies.
End the day with a wonderful dinner in the desert. This unforgettable evening will include special dishes from a sought-after private chef.

April 14th | Masada, En Gedi, Qumran, Dead Sea, Dinner at Mona’s
Start the day at Masada. See the fortress where the Israelites last stood against Rome after the Fall of Jerusalem. They committed mass suicide there to avoid becoming prisoners of Rome. This is also where David went while on the run from King Saul. Many to be the authentic burial site of Jesus. Private garden reserved for communion.
Visit Qumran. The location where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found and confirmed the legitimacy of the Scriptures we read today.
Next, tour En Gedi where Ruth and Naomi walked up the rugged mountain to Bethlehem, where Boaz would marry the Moabite, who became a follower of the God of Israel. This site has a spectacular waterfall and caves where David hid from King Saul, as recorded in 1 Samuel 23.
Float the Dead Sea. The Dead Sea is the lowest elevation and the lowest body of water on the surface of Earth. It contains 10 times the amount of salt as the oceans.
Finally conclude the day at Mona’s restaurant.

April 15th | Bethlehem, Garden Tomb, Yad Vashem, Gush Etzion Winery
Start the day at Bethlehem and tour the Church of Nativity and Shepherds Fields. The beloved place where Jesus was born.
Spend time touring the lush Garden Tomb, one of the traditional sites where many believe Jesus was buried and resurrected. Many folks who come to the Holy Land remember the Garden Tomb as one of the most special spots on the entire trip.
Finally, spend the day at the Gush Etzion Winery and Restaurant. Sip on fantastic Israeli wine and incredible eats.

April 16th | Isreal Museum, Free Day to rest, Explore Jerusalem, Farewell Dinner, Flight home
Start the day with a tour of the Israel Museum. It is a must-hit museum while in the Holy Land.
Enjoy the rest of the afternoon exploring Jerusalem with a free day. This is your time to enjoy the amenities at the hotel shop in Jerusalem
Finally, conclude the trip with a special Farewell Dinner at Eyclupus Restaurant. A time to remember the incredible tour that you just embarked on.
Fly home (red eye).

Passport Requirements
Its is very important that your passport does not expire six months before our return date. You will be denied entry into Israel if your passport expires earlier than this date.
If your passport expiration date looks good, please email a copy to info@unchartedadventures.co.
- Best: Color scan of your passport in .jpg, .png or .pdf format
- Good Enough: Up-close photo in .jpg or .png format (make sure there is no glare and all info is readable.)
- Make sure passport is SIGNED and that signature page is included in your scan or photo.
If your passport expires 6 months before we return from our trip, you will need to apply immediately for a passport renewal. Please click here for directions on how to renew your passport. NOTE: Routine renewal processing can take 12 weeks. Expedited (more expensive) is more like a 6 week turnaround.

Be aware, if you are traveling with us to Israel, customs may take longer if your passport contains stamps from Muslim-majority countries.
Flights
Below are some arrival and departure windows we recommend you do your best to book your flights within. You may encounter a longer wait time at the airport and/or be responsible for paying the additional transportation costs of private transportation to/from the airport if you arrive outside of the suggested arrival window. (i.e. a private car service will cost $150-$200 USD in most cases.) If your arrival and departure dates are different from what is below you will also be responsible for paying for additional hotel nights.

Solo Travelers
We welcome solo travelers on all our trips! However, the advertised trip cost reflects a cost per person that assumes the person will share a room with another traveler (“double occupancy.”) We will do our best to pair you with another solo traveler (of the same gender) who also desires a roommate. It has worked out well for many people on our trips. If, however, we are unable to assign a roommate, you should anticipate that 1-2 months before trip departure, you will receive an additional invoice of $1,925 USD from Uncharted Adventures to cover to costs of having a private room (“single supplement”) at the hotel during the trip.
Weather
The average daily high temperature during the month of April is around 65-73 degrees (F) with evening temps around 54 degrees (F). April is typically a mild season in Israel and the weather is usually very pleasant, but the chance of rain does exist. Temperatures may differ in the south (desert) and Galilee (north) regions.
Trip Cancellations
In the event that you choose to cancel you reservation, or it is cancelled due to reasons outside the control of Uncharted Adventures (including, but not limited to, political turmoil, natural disasters, acts of God, pandemic or epidemics), you will be responsible for any non-refundable expenses incurred by you or on your behalf (including, but not limited to, airfare, airline cancellation fees, deposits, lodging etc.) Uncharted Adventures will strive to refund everything possible if the expedition is cancelled for reasons outside of our control. We strongly recommend cancellation trip insurance to help protect you in the unfortunate event you would need to cancel your trip.
Cancellation Fees and Refunds
If you choose to cancel your reservation, cancellation fees will be determined according to the following schedule:
- 181 days or more prior to departure date, the cancellation fee is the trip deposit amount $500 USD, plus any other costs or administrative fees incurred from transportation agency or hotel.
- 91-180 days prior to departure date, the cancellation fee is 50 percent of trip cost plus any air costs or administrative fees incurred from transportation agency or hotel.
- 90 days and less prior to departure date, the entire price of the trip becomes nonrefundable.

Is Israel safe?
Israel is regarded as one of the safest countries in the world. Annually, the city of Chicago has more violent crimes than the entire country of Israel.
The safety of our travelers is of the highest priority to Uncharted Adventures and our partners. If for any reason safety is threatened by any factors the owners/operators reserve the right to make whatever changes deemed necessary for the safety of the team. This could include changing lodging or avoiding areas at short notice.

Payment Information
Option 1: Payment Plan
Pay $500 USD deposit per person at sign-up. This will secure your spot on the trip. We will invoice you the two remaining balances 7 months and 3 month prior to depatrure.
September 7th, 2025 – First 50% Payment Due
January 7th, 2026 – Final 50% Payment Due
*We will notify you of your upcoming deadlines by email. $500 of the deposit is non-refundable.
Option 2: Pay Full Amount
After reserving your tour, request an invoice from josh@unchartedadventures.co to pay the remaining balance.
Pricing Information
*Price per person is based on double occupancy (two people sharing a hotel room), paying by check. Private rooms are an additional $1,925 USD. Solo travelers will have the option to pick “Single Occupancy, With Roommate” or “Single Occupancy, Private Room.” We will do our best to assign a roommate to solo travelers if that is their preference. In the event we are unable to assign someone a roommate, an additional charge of $1,925 USD per person will be assessed approximately two months before departure.
